I feel like my annotations are getting better and better each time I annotate a text. I connect with the text on the paper and explain things on the paper in my own words.
- It was first published on WorldPost, an online news and blog site in January 2014. Yo-Yo Ma wrote the essay and the authors bio explained how much he has achieved and the awards he has gotten.
- The circumstances that surround my personal reading experiences are the expectations I give myself and that others have of me. I try to reach those expectations as much as possible. My purpose for reading this text is for English class and to understand Yo-Yo Ma’s point of view on how the education system and art need to be combined.
- The author wanted to shed light on how the education systems would be much better if we incorporated art in STEM, making it STEAM. The “so what?” would be if we didn’t do it we wouldn’t be able to grow and expand our learning.
