After reading the article a second time I didn’t notice anything brand new, but reading it over again helped clarify my first annotations. A lot of my annotations were me trying to clarify what the paragraph was saying but when I read it over again I feel like I got the wrong idea for some of the paragraphs and I made some revisions that made more sense. Like in the paragraph that was talking about creating mistakes at first when I read it I thought it meant you can make a mistake with a metaphor but now I think it’s explaining how to make a metaphor. Also when I first read the article I didn’t really think about it that much but when I read it over again I thought that it is really cool how psycholinguistic research studies how people actually encounter and process new metaphors. Another thing I didn’t understand while reading it the first time was why “a paintbrush is a kind of pump” and now I get that a pump moves liquid and a paintbrush moves liquid around as well so actually do go together. While reading it the first time I didn’t know a lot of the words he was saying so it was hard to comprehend some of the text but when I looked up the words I got a better understanding.
